On my new/used bandsaw, which is a central machinery/harbor freight 14" model, I really couldn't stand the blade tension setup.
The knob was way too small and down behind the upper enclosure which made it nearly impossible to turn. A trip to Lowes for a square nut and I was able to use some 3/8-16 threaded rod with a couple of nuts jammed on the top. Now I just use my socket wrench to easily adjust the tension.

Thank you. Hehehehe. I hope so too, I'm not so sure he knows what he's doing. Quote:

I got the jig for the truss rod slot made the other night.
I'm going to try my hand at a traditional single action heel adjust rod. Should be fun for my first truss rod ever. I also bought a coil winder on ebay. Anybody have any idea how many turns a 51 p-bass style pickup would need with 42g wire to hit around 7k? -Josh |

I'm hoping to at least have a finished bass when I'm done. A prize would be icing on the cake. And I hope people have fun watching. -Josh |

full review? Did it come with the riser block? I think I read it could resaw 10 or 12" with the 104" blade. I need to upgrade from my little 9" table top and since I've had about a 70% success rate with Harbor Freight, I'd like to hear from someone that owns one before I buy it. Like everybody else, I love this thread, btw. Thanks for sharing it, as I know it's quite a bit of work.
