Yeah, I was a little worried about dipping it but it was the fastest paint I've every done. Lol now I'm clearing it. I have a week to get it done. It's a Xmas gift for an older buddy of mine... He has no idea he's getting it.

Looks pretty cool, did you do the fretboard too or is that part taped off?

No, that's an old neck that is broke so I use it for my builds. The thought did cross my mind tho.

Cool, it has a rather VanGogh "Starry Night" vibe.

Nice! I especially like the pattern on the headstock. Did you use the borax method? What kind of paint?

Great! What are you planning for a pickguard?

I used the borax method and used model car hobby paint in those little bitty jars. I'm probably going to go with a white guard because of the white that's showing through the blue. I'll post some pics of it with a white and a black guard for all of your feedback.

And that starry night theme, that's exactly what my wife had said.

Here's the pics of the guards. I'm leaning more towards the white. Does anyone else have any suggestions???

I have a question also....

Are there different sizes of bridge pickups?? When I dropped it in for the pic the pup bottoms out. It's routed out about 1/4" to 3/8" too shallow. Needless to say I'm P.O.'d ! I need some advice before I go ripping guitars apart trying to see for myself.

Dig it! I like the black pickguard, but the white really pops.

Nice!

White guard.

You are probably dinked re the pickup route depth.

To my eye, the black looks better, which is weird for me, because usually I only like black on butterscotch. I think the white draws attention to itself, the black pushes the focus to the paint.
