great Spam Can oi !!
I don't have any markers on mine: ne need on short neck. on this one one or two markers might be handy I think, fi A and octave E positions.

you could ofcourse do an extensive MOP Abolone Dragon inlay over all the neck

pup is a cutey!

What's on my workbench today? Nothing...it's 97° in the shop and 99° in the spray booth.

Dude, tell me about it. Yesterday it was 98° here, 94° in the garage.

I did still manage to get a little done on my current build but when I say, "A lot of sweat when into this guitar", I literally mean a lot of sweat when into this guitar.

Looking great, John. It's always nice to do something different. I've found that I just like making stuff...doesn't have to be a guitar.

Are you going to at least put a binding on that top?

Oigun, might I ask what program you are using in the background to count the windings? Thanks, Mike

Lee Valley.

I think Rockler has something similar. Search for "lift table" on their websites.

It's gonna be a hot summer here and so I've decided to start the pickup making extravaganza on those days that it too hot to work on wood stuff. I found a drawing with metric specs of a strat replacement pickup and redrew it for the purpose of trying to create some flatwork. I'm using old pickguard scraps for now. Here are the first ones I made. Now if I can only find those alnico magnets I bought a few years ago.

A tortoise binding would look sharp.

What a great thread. Some very nice builds and workshops in the thread.

I have a lot going on at the moment and a few other things going on in the workshop that arnt my builds. On one bench there is a flamenco guitar being made. It is a spruce and Australian blackwood build. It is very close to being finished. With it is an all australian blackwood guitar that has the box glued up. Then there is about 200 ukulele sets that have been cut. Some are sanded some still need to be done before selling.

On another bench is a couple of bent side teles. Still early stages but should get a fair bit done tomorrow. There is also another bent side tele that is being french polished.

Also in this shed is a landrover engine being worked on (this is not mine and it is taking up valuable bench space). In the next shed over is the repair bench, more wood shelves with a couple hundred back and side sets. In this shed is also my pickup winding gear. A 15 watt amp that I am building and a few amps that I am fixing (I am not an amp tech just helping out some mates). There is also a norton commando engine, frame tank etc being rebuilt on another bench this is not mine either. Then there is the guitar repair room with a stack of guitars in for repair.

I will get some photos tomorrow if I have time. The workshop is never spotless but it is at its worst at the moment.

Wet sanding this one

I love checking out this thread so I figured I might as well jump in.

This on the bench now for some wet sanding.

Do y'all hate wet sanding as much as I do?!?

Today I made some more progress on my amp cabinet. I had this 1 x 12 in the garage for a few years. I'm trying to come up with a scheme for a front speaker covering and tolex. Right now it is screwed and cleated. I'm going to do some floating tenons between the large surfaces.
