I got a Made in Indonesia squier neck that I'm preparing to put on my CV50 tele. I need tuners. The uggo tuners on the indonesia neck don't even have a name on them. They have two nips on the back to align them and use a ferrule style 10 mm nut to fasten the tuner to the headstock.

I've got some MJT tuners on the way, I hope to get them to fit the holes, and I may have to drill pilot holes.

I should have just spend another 50 dollars and got a loaded neck with the tuners I wanted. But miss all that aggravation for free? No way.

Black Limba top I resawed and glued together last night. Still have to plane it flat before gluing it up to a body

For me today, no bench. Highs are 66 with low humidity. SPRAY TIME!

Finally got this together..final tuning, set up /intonation/ action today...

not sure about the cream knobs?.. I've got black ones here that might suit better?.. anyone know what makers headstock shape this is?... the headstock had a cheap B&W zebra paintjob over the logo when I got it... hence the cream top I put over it....

a HSH strat for a young bloke to play in his band...
"The Belligerent Goats"... I think they have utube clips up...

His Dad, my mailman, reckons they're complete shiite and can't understand why anyone would actually pay them to play....
. a great endorsement I thought..
.. they are moving to Brisbane this year to continue their music.. they have had paid gigs already .. and might even have a following?....

he plays the Acoustic guitar now....but wanted something beefier with humbuckers and stuff to get more ooomph on stage....

sure!..I know just the thing for you.... I'll breathe new life into a collection of some of my parts for you.... to help your cause \m/..and put a cream top on it....

Judging by the shape, the skunk stripe, and the Japanise sounding name associated with the patent number as well as the filing date of the patent, my guess is Hondo.

I posted the picture of the guitar parts pile a few weeks ago, so I thought I should post a picture of one of them finished. It has a Dimarzio Area 'T' pickup and has cocked wah wiring set up.
The next one will use the swamp ash body and one of the birds eye maple necks in the pile. It is about 60% finished. It will have a traditional tele set- up with 2 pick-ups.

I like seeing that last picture kencole. Makes me smile to see someone else with a collection going.

No pics but on the bench today, rebuilding some old pots. testing some new capacitors. cutting some pickup covers. testing the new proto type bridges I just got back from my metal guys. and rewiring a new pawn shop prize, a Yamaha AES500 in great condition for $60. Then later this afternoon some wet sanding some bodies. Nice Friday.

Picked up a nice piece of Sapele , 2" x 9 1/2" x 10' , cut it into 20" lengths for 3 blanks down the road , I'll seal the ends and put it in my stash .

Next project's neck build is on my bench at the moment;

First time using Cocobolo as a fretboard;

I picked up 2 rather large "rails" from a cabinet maker and it looks like I"ll get
6-7 fretboards out of it. Started out like this;

The iPhone pics don't show it very well, but it's got a nice "orangey" color to it.
Very toxic stuff when being worked, so if you pick some up, use precautions.

I am finishing up my "travelcaster" for a trip on Monday. I wanted a full scale guitar that I can shove in the overhead compartment.

+1 on the Hondo- maybe a Fame model. I had a Hondo neck that looked identical- bullet truss rod nut and all. Really nice necks.

Nice Sapele, would you mind sharing where you got it?

Hi Brian , got it at Roberts Plywood , nice and straight , a little heavy but not to bad , I was looking through the genuine mahogany but the price and length just didn't work for me , the guy working there was helping me go through it and suggested looking at the Sepele , and $4.00 a board foot cheaper . I had an 8" cut off I sanded a bit and wiped with naptha , very pretty wood.
That place is fantastic , they have quite a selection, thanks for the tip.

I just bought a 2"x8"x9' piece of the same stuff (the one in the middle). It looks amazing, haven't decided what to do with it yet.
