Pickup Volume Question

Hey,
Im building a les paul with 4 pickups. If 2 pickups are wired to one volume nob and the other 2 are wired to another and if one selector posistion is for 2 pickups, one from each volume nobs and i turn on volume nob off, will that pickup selection now be off or would it have the other pickup on. Sorry if this is really confusing.

if i recall correctly, you can wire the pot with the leads going onto the sweeper (middle pin) you can turn one down and still get volume out of the other pickup.

if you wire the leads to one of the outside pins on the pot it will kill both pickups when you turn down one pot.

i think that's what you are asking.
