Hi Brenda,
Haven't done it myself - though it really has my interest - found a few sites:
http://designed2wind.alphalink.com.au/

told me a lot; Jason Lollar's site:
http://www.lollarguitars.com/mm5/mer...ckups-articles

has interviews with him in which you can learn a lot. His book is out of print, by the way. Then, of course, Stew-Mac has raw materials as well as kits for diy pickups.

I'm a doofus.

I still cant figger out how and where to attach the wire initially on the single coil pickup.

Can anyone come up with a vid that actually shows someone with no skills whatsoever and has never done one before, how to wind a pickup?

There's a whole bunch on Youtube, some better than others. Just search "pickup winding".

Wow. If that is so then I am slow.

You just loop it through two or three times. You don't solder until you attach the leads.

Pedal powered pickup winder

It would be a funny as hell but cool invention to get me some steady-state cardio by attaching the pickup winder assembly to a stationary bike!!!

Need that cardio!!! I can't be the only fat bastage out there. Who's with me!!!
