Good bridge PUP to pair w/ a P-90?

Anyone have a good recommendation for a bridge PUP to be paired with a neck P-90?

This is my first post here; hi!

I've got my heart set on building a new tele mostly b/c I can't find a guitar with everything I want that I can still afford.

I was hugely inspired by stumbling on warmoth and realizing you can make a decision about pretty much everything.

This guys P-90 jazz tone is, incredible,

I'm debating right now between doing two P-90s or keeping a regular single coil in the bridge for a bigger tone spread.

Wondering if anyone has suggestions for a bridge pickup that could keep up with a vintage P-90, like the Duncan SP90-1??

I really need to nail this first time around - make a really versatile, useable and durable daily player.

Great forum you guys have going here - happy to have found it. Have already read a ton of your stuff, so thanks.

Rya

I would go twin P90 from choice .I have a P90 neck and a standard tele bridge and it all sounds good but is a compromise as you have to decide what pot value to put in .Ideally a 500 for the P90 and 250 for the bridge .I have Toneriders and it all seems oK with 250 pots but maybe the p90 would be a bit warmer and jazzier on 500 .There also is a volume difference .The in between sound is fantastic so a keeper ..

If you go tele style with the bridge, Duncan Broadcaster, CS Nocaster or CS Texas Special will do nicely.

I have a DiMarzio PRE-B1 in mine. It's great. I'm not sure what P-90 is in there now. I got it in a pawn shop for $5, but it's a good match.

I have one of Fezz's P-90s going in as soon as I can find the time. Will report on that combo when I get it dialed in.

Harmonic Designs Super 90.
It is a P90-ish tone in the regular tele bridge pickup case.

+1. Love mine. Hot but not an over wound sound.

Two P-90s is my vote. I have a GFS pair on my jazzmaster build and they sound awesome, especially in the middle position.

If you're completely undecided, then here's another one: Jason Lollar Charlie Christian set. They are perfectly balanced in volume, they sound great together and separately. Not often described as P-90 sounding, but I'd call them the "Best Sounding P-90's That Aren't P-90". You won't find a better jazz tone from the neck, and the bridge doesn't take your head off the way other Tele bridge pickups often do.

I tried the single-coil bridge and P90 neck route and since one is happy with 500k pots and the other 250k, I didn't end up with something I really liked.

I put a Duncan lil '59 in the bridge, 500k pots and all is swell.

Great - thanks for all the input - I shall now commence hunting for sound clips of your recommendations on youtube.
I hadn't really considered pots values...
