esquire master

i want to make some chips
and it can be a cool project for this winter

first a jazzmaster plan (already used )

two a télécaster plan where i keep only what i want
and then
a esquire master

i am hésitate beetween a télé neck or a strat neck at the heel ?
and beetween télé ,strat or jazz head stock ?

i have order a basswood body (my télé baja in ash is too much heavy and the jazzmaster body is more voluminus evermore ash is not cool to finish )

for neck is the rest of the plank of my jazzmaster neck

the grain was strange and it was eaten by insect but with an ébony freatboard it could works

for the guard need to be créative
you sake

and then

i will made neck pickup rout for jag ,telé and jazzmaster cause if it 's boring me to have only one pups i just have to cut a new guard without destroy finish
cause i haven' t do guard before, i have a sheet of stiroglass to try it avoid to ruin a cool mint sheet at 50 dollars

more than 90 % of hardware is order rest ebony fretboard ,fret ,trussrod neck plate ,tuners (klusons of course )
i have buy a fender 62 bridge plate with the saddle and pickup cheap but seems to be cool

I'd be interested in trying a Jazzmaster sometime. Where did you get the blueprint?

There was already a Tele/Jazzmaster drawing available but I guess you had to know about it. It wasn't that easy to find using the search function. Anyway, here it is for future reference. Credit for this drawing goes to the great Ed Hawley.

....... and here's a Jazzmaster drawing ........... once again thanks to Ed Hawley.

Ah, thanks guys. I now have some Jazzmaster information in my Documents folder. I have a ash body blank and two trussrods coming from Warmoth. I thought to do a strat. But, maybe I'll do a Jazzmaster next.

Keep the pics coming, Ludobag1!

I don't really know much about them at all! I only played a Jazzmaster once, for about 10 minutes, many years ago. But, I like to research and build instruments I don't already own. It could make for a fun project. (I never owned and Irish Bouzouki. But, it was fun to build one!)

The ash I'm buying is "swamp ash". Its quite a bit lighter then regular ash. Where as regular ash (in my opinion) is dense, white'ish, and heavy like maple... "swamp ash" is light as say... poplar, open grained like mahogany or oak, and a bit grey'ish. (If that makes sense.)

I just did my first build with it and it sounds great! Its quite resonant. So I ordered another blank. I wish I could find it in the local mills. But, I think its mainly from a different part of the country.

Nice. You are starting to sell me on this design. I like the Jazzmaster shape. But, I don't need all the knobs. And I very rarely use a guitar with a tremolo.

You've got my wheels turning now! I'm thinking of one of these with a large 70's style strat headstock. I can already see the body and pick guard colors in my head. ;)

Keep the pics coming!
