Something a bit different...
Here are a few necks I am building for all those NOS Gretsch bodies found in Nashville.
These are waiting to get bound and carved. ![]() Here is the neck tenon on these. Notice the fingerboard extension is like an archtop style. A bit rought right now, but it will all clean up nice. ![]() And some corvette necks ![]()

Nice work. I like the headstock styling and the fret markers. Cool design.
What is the story with the found NOS Gretsch bodies? Who's got them? How many are there? Can they be had? And, if so, at what price? |

A storage area was sold this spring in Nashville. It was loaded with gretsch astro jet and corvette bodies. Hundreds! They were being sold one at a time fir $100. The remainder were sold as a lot and now are offered on ebay. I'm not involved in any of this other then making a few necks that fit the mortise. Gretsch was offered the bodies and the turned down the deal.

Very interesting. Thanks for the info. I'll see if I can spot any on ebay. If I were Gretsch, I think I could have assembled and marketed these cool retro units for top dollar. What a great find!
But what do I know? |
