BHC on JBB (Bad Horn Chip on Jazz Bass Body)
I was ending the (perfect, I must admit) routing of a JB body when I got this on the cake
![]() imagine that I wanted to finish the body natural , so what? After discussing it with the Saints, I opted for this fixing ![]() I found the corresponding piece of wood just cut from that place (my wife says I never throw away anything, luckily) and went for it ![]() squared it all, and glued it (crossing fingers) ![]() and hold it doing so ![]() ![]() If it will not be a nice (almost) invisible fix, the JB will be a white one to be continued.... I've done that a few times. That is a tough place to do a repair like that. I would have probably put a bevel on and glued a piece to that to try and feather in the "butt" joint you get at the lower end of the new wood chunk.

the (poor) result...
misaligned signs on the top (I can't imagine how I did it!!!) ![]() aligned sides ![]() ![]() I'll wait the bevel to decide between the white color o the natural finish but I think it will be too visible, but in case of sunburst... Ciao Mauro |
