Recycled Door Esquire

Made this one out of an old door I found, some sort of fir I think...Anyway, the neck is off an old MIM tele and has a Wilkinson pickup and bridge. Both the neck and body are finished in shellac. Drilled through the back by mistake so good ol' Abe gave me a hand covering things up. I have it strung up with some nice thick flat wounds, sounds and plays great!

Nice! Just goes to show you can make a Tele out of anything. I envy you guys who can just pick up any old piece of wood and turn it into a Tele. How heavy is this door-a-caster?

Glad you guys like it! I've got enough for one more body. One of the pieces has the old key hole through it, I'm going to try get it centered below the bridge...I'm not sure of the exact weight, it's on the lightish side though. Not so light that you'd pick it up and say "Wow, that's a light guitar" but it's not a bruiser by any means. I'll try to get a few more photos up soon.
