Another Guitar Fetish question....

Hi guys, this is not a building question but because there has been a fair bit of Guitar Fetish talk of late I thought I would ask the question.

A mate of mine is keen to buy a Guitar Fetish Xaviere model Strat.

Anyone know the build quality of these things or know of anyone who has bought one and has comments on it?

Would appreciate some comments.

cheers...Wayne

I have one of the Xaviere XV-870 strat-ish guitars. It's the only strat-like guitar I've ever owned, so I can't really compare it to anything, but I thought it was good enough to write a review on Harmony-Central (now lost apparently). I thought it was good enough that I purchased an Xavier XV-900.

It's a $169-$174 guitar. It looks exactly like a guitar. What more do you want? Watch out though. It was gateway guitar to my G&L Tele. Have I mentioned my G&L is perfect? I guess I have.

I have another model, not sure which one, but it's about a 5 year old-ish 335 wannabee, black with very high gloss finish, and triple layer bindings, and split coil taps on push-pull tone pots. Sweet guitar for the $165 I spent from a lady on ebay. It has a reverse Zemaitis headstock with large metal badges and truss rod covers. Excellent fit and finish, but sort of jumbo frets. Filled the GAS of the moment.
