First build: Two Ash Tellys

After almost a year I finally finished my first ever project. Two Ash Tellys (not Swamp Ash which is impossible to find in Spanish lumberyards). My intention was not to make an "exact replica" of a Fender Model, but learn how to make a solid guitar, have fun, and end up with a playable instrument.

Looking back it was a big challenge (an almost suicidal) to make two guitars as a first build. But the case is that it was very educational, because i was able to learn from the mistakes I've made on the first one, and try to solve them on the second one (I've made the two of them at the same time, but I've always have made mine first).

This site, among others, was a very useful source of information and clever ideas on construction, so I want to thank all of you who have the patience and dedication to post construction processes. I've pics of my process too so, if you find it useful I can post them...

Enough words...

Number 1 (mine):

Number 2:

The sunburst one looks not as glossy as it is (it's like the black one) but this is due to the photographer and the learning process of photographing guitars.

Best regards.

Thank you very much. I was surprised too with the results on my first sunburst attempt.

In lumberyards (at least here in Spain), they're not very fond of botanical names, so you're never sure on what are you buying for real. European Ash is, I think, Fraxinus Excelsior http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraxinus_excelsior

And it weights a lot, believe me, this two particular guitars must weight as a Les Paul...

Regards

Those are gorgeous stucliff. And in just my colors - I have a burst Squier and a black MIM.
