Yeah, I had a strat in the early 90s... The wiring was a bit of a rat's nest, especially compared to the pots and caps in Gil's PRM photos... The strat didn't have the nice aged patina though.

Although relics are not my thing, I can certainly appreciate the research, the time taken to perfect the look and above all the craftsmanship. Superb work and what a thread.
Now for the noobie question Regarding the "Darkburst" (7 posts above) what would the colour process be? Is it all tinted lacquer/nitro or is the amber colour a dye. Also it looks like it has a purple rather than cherry tint. |
