That's just nasty good Scatter. I've always wanted one of those. Wish I'd known you were making one, I've got several pickguards.

Ya - I've been missing your regular posts... That is awesome - is the neck one piece of mahogany under the Rosewood?

I have some great mahogany that I would rather not saw up into 3 pieces and flip the middle piece (then glue it all back together) to make a 3 piece neck - I'm wondering if there is a big benefit to the 3 piece neck?

How did you do the very top of the headstock? I'm thinking that most people do that by hand since I don't think they make a pattern bit that small.

What size plank does the body need to be? I've got some 12" wide maple that'd be a sweet SG style, stained like that of course.

Never mind - I found some drawings I had created into Rhino3D, and the body measures 13.5" x 16.5", so a 12 wide board is not quite wde enough. But maybe as a through-neck. Hmmmmm.

From my experience, non-one-piece necks are much less susceptible to changing weather conditions. If you live in an area with hiccup-y weather or travel a lot, a three-piece neck will usually give you less hassle.

sounds great, best tone i've come up with yet, it's being shipped of to compare with an original late 59, this one is more like an early 59, might have a vid sooner or later

Hey since you were talking about multiple piece necks/body's. Why should you do it that way, and how actually ? (Is it just flipping one piece around for strength or something?)

Thanks... By the way Scatter, great build as always !

Scatter Lee your skills are awesome man. So much with so little. Gits the job done as good if not better than some folks with a shop full of store bought toys.

I have learned a lot from your builds. Thanks for sharing.
