HELP!!!! My pots aren't working!!
Hi everybody. I'm new to this site, so any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
I have changed bridge pickup on 69 thinline reissue from stock to the custom shop hand wound '50's model single coil. Also changed the stock cap to a .047 poly cap. Re-soldered everything back in its original place and fired it up. THE VOLUME POT DOESN'T TURN COMPLETELY OFF AND THE TONE POT DOES THE SAME. Why is this happening? Please help! I've wired it exactly the same as it was before, and even re-soldered connections to ensure I didn't have a cold joint. Any help is great. Thanks, Todd |

I've only done one before and had an issue where my tone didn't do anything. I resoldered the capacitor but before I did that I scratched up the surface of the pot where the capacitor connected. I figured there was some kind of varnish on the metal. It worked. I'm no electrician so I may be off base. Just a thought from my limited experience.
