Mini Tele build

Just completed this earlier this week, my first scratch build: a mini tele for my kid. I had trouble finding a small guitar that I liked, and I had a lot of the materials (except the custom pickguard and decal paper) in my parts bin/scrap heap.

I don't have a router or a drill press, or an electric sander, so most of it was done with a hand drill, jigsaw, rasp, and hand sanding. The paint is auto lacquer, with nitro clear.

Total length is about 28", scale is 18".

Enough chin wagging, here's the pics!

Cool!!! I've been wanting to do something alike to take on trips... Hey eu... does it work with standard tuning? Because smaller stringlength I'd guess it to be tuned in higher pitch right ?

Smaller guitars hold standard tuning fine, but do it better with heavier string gauges. I strung a 19" scale length with 11s and it plays nicely and sounds good.

That a cool little guitar! Nice work! Nice pics, too.

Do we get to hear it?

Peace,
Mark

Green with envy (see my incomplete build of the CAD Files for Necks - for Mandocaster). It's for my kids, and it'll be an acoustick electric Mini-Strat-Tele - if I ever get it done. WAAA-WAAA-WAAA. Great looking instrument, and I bet the kids will really crank it up.
