not a telecaster build (jaguar)
this is the plan so far:
Body and headstock fiesta red White pickguard Pickups ??? Jaguar Vibrato Pickup control set for neck, bridge and phase Mustang Bridge 2nd Circuit control ; varitone Lead Circuit set normal other mods i should keep in mind? this is somewhat of slow build since I have school and work, plus my money priority goes to no being homeless. I Order a mint color pickguard and i made my mind on the rhythm circuit, i'm putting in a varitone with a added wet/dry pot ![]() The neck has been stripped of all paint and lacquer. I have refill the wholes with wooden tooth picks since it has been drill a few times for diferent tuners ![]() ![]() does anyone have a better way to stain the neck to that nice golden fender color? I have plates, pickguard, neck, lead circuit electronics need bridge, tail piece, body, pickups, varitone, paint |

What kind of neck are you using?
With the risk of stating the obvious: You are aware of the fact that Jags in their standard form use a 24' scale as opposed to the 25 1/2' scale used for strats, teles, JMs etc? The reason I ask is that the neck looks like it came from something else than a jag... Good luck! I am a big fan of jags and will follow your thread with great interest! Harald |

...and another thing: why not use the third switch for series/parallell pickup selection instead of phase. IMHO out of phase sound have very little value, especially when you start out with a guitar as trebly as a jag...but that's just my personal opinion...

I do know about the neck, I used to have a mustang and love the shortcale neck, this is a jagmaster 24' neck.
about the switch I was thinking that yesterday, i am now thinking of getting a custom made plate that would hold just 1 mustang 3way switch instead of the 3 usually found on a jaguar.... but no idea who would do that kind of job |

There are people making this kind and other kinds of plates as well. Bo browse www.offsetguitars.com and/or www.shortscale.org and you'll find 'em... |
