more shots

I did the front this aft. Same technique as the back, time spent 2 hrs including scraping, next light sanding with 600 then onto the black burst.

Hi John

John,

Hi to you and a happy new year.
I am actually hoping to get to AM real soon, I need to get fret wire and whatever else I may find.
I will let you and SpyderXX know when that will be, and if any of you guys who are in the area feel welcome to drop by too.

Bill

Neck plate question

As you may have noticed I left the neck mounting holes undrilled because I wanted to use a 3 bolt plate instead of the 4 bolt version.
Is the 3 bolt plate just as good for a connection? I will be using inserts in the neck as well.

Bill

Looking good as usual. May have to modify my ski schedule when you're ready to go shopping.

Body update

Well I am nicely on my way, I have 3 sessions of clear on the body and found a couple of spots on the binding that were not as tight as I thought not big gaps and I thought the clear would fill in but it didn't, maybe the superglue is causing this,so I got an artists brush and laid in some shellac to fill the voids I found. I'll let it sit till tomorrow level it out then continue.

Sassy update

OK,

I got my micromesh disks and 2x2 pads and hit the back and front with 1500-12000, I'll let it sit for awhile and then polish her up.
I really like how the waterbased lacquer is so easy to use as well as the micro-mesh pads. I haven't touched the sides yet.

Hi and thanks, I hope to have it ready in a month, now that the body is basically done I can focus on the neck and then pickup winding.
I also hope to video my neck build too.

Sassy Update

OK,

So I started on my pick-guard today and did a quick layout just for fun.
My pots and such are n the way, and I will be starting the neck this week.
No its not a broadcaster (based on the PG), I still need to knockout the neck pup slot and drill mounting holes.

DDlooping

Hey thanks alot.
Itr will be interesting to hear what she sounds like, Ill have to think about how I want to wind the pups, since I couldnt find any other sassy solid body gits out there I have no way of knowing how the wood will affect the tone, my assumption is that it will be close to ash.

I'd suggest erring towards the bright side as I'd think it'd be easier to tame the treble than to add some afterwords. :)
