Very strange project. How is the flat-sawn neck handling the tension without a truss-rod?

I don't expect it to move and that proves the argument (and the essence of this build) that there is no problem to not use a truss rod on fat maple necks.
I took this shot with the original 0.010-0.046



and changed to 0.011 - 0.052 ... still no movement.



BTW, 99% of my standard fat necks don't need any rod tension and this neck is much stiffer since there was no wood removal for the rod channel... so... no big surprise here.
I'll keep building this model without a rod without any worries whatsoever. The only change will be using white pine instead of yellow, although both sound great, the white is historically correct. The pine I used on this build is a local pine grown in Israel which makes it unique for me as my roots go very deep in this land (-;

How do you think the necks will be in ten years time if they move to a humid country?

From my experience, if the maple blank is mature and stable and the neck hasn't moved on the first couple of weeks it will not move at all excluding extreme heat conditions... (like forgetting it in the car for a day in the Arizona desert).

I don't know what happened with my commercial builds but my own basses never required a truss rod adjustment after the initial setup. They all have fat necks though...
but on the other hand, none are quarter sawned...
I'm pretty sure it's not possible to build a trussrodless neck thinner than 0.85" @ first fret.

Thank you so much for your kind words.
The guys here are not strangers to each other... and I believe most of us share hard-won proprietary knowledge and gain even more knowledge from each other... That's the idea of having a forum community, you give what you got and take what you need.
I also don't believe posting knowledge can hurt in any way. People should know and understand how much hard work and knowledge are put into each guitar to make it sound and feel right... especially today, when $60 guitars (if they can be called guitars at all) are mass produced by machinery in China...
