The body is very attractive as is. However, the neck color does not seem to me to belong with the body color. Perhaps if it were tinted a bit to match the neck it would look OK, but I agree more with your initial impulse to go with a translucent white.
Very cool guitar. |

Thanks for the replies guys! Keep them coming! Ok: That's 4 votes (on leaving it as is) against 1 vote (to paint it trans white). So far I'm leaning on keeping it as is.. |

If you really want that vintagey look on a vintage adaptation, go ahead and paint it. If you want one of the coolest, most unique and striking guitars anywhere ever, leave that sucker as is. My vote? Asisasisasisasis!

Thanks, I also thought about that too:) If so, it will match the neck for sure but then again I also kinda like the fact that the color of the ash wood I got since it's unusually "fairer" than most ash woods I've seen at Max's shop.
But it's still an option, thanks again! |

Thanks for your vote Joseph:) I think Max really did a good job on painting your burst. It was your custom that reeled me in to having made made as well.
But truthfully I'm more of a white-blonde guy.. Butterscotch and natural too. Though I do have one burst tele:) Thanks again for all the help on mine. Your burst telemaster is truly a beautiful make by Max! |

Same here, I also thought it looked interesting with the help of the shadow on that photo. Which made me think if I should give it a shot of some color just to tint and simulate the darkness of the wood on the photo. Or leave it as is... ![]() ![]() I'm really still undecided! |

PM sent. Thanks for your kind words sir:) Not only looks good, but plays well too. I'm really happy with the way this thing sustains and resonates. Max and I noticed that it really resonates especially on the key of B. Lots of vibrations and overtones especially on an open B string. Now that's 7 votes to leave it as is. The advantage of painting this with trans vintage white blonde is that it will look good with a black and white pickguard plus it will match the tinted neck. Right now, if I slap the white pickguard it kinda looks a little off, but the grains are just too nice to cover up.. Plus as days go by, I'm really loving the natural look.. Maybe I should give it more time and cross the bridge when I get there:) |
