Tele twins from scratch

Again, I went with the body routing.

Started with controls cavity, continued with bridge pickup, then neck pickup



I'm completing an MDF template, it's tricky without it!

Then I started drilling the strings through body holes, installed the bridge and signed the holes.
Unluckily my drill press has not enough space to drill the holes with it, so I used the Dremel with a simple jig to drill vertical holes (where vertical is just an opinion...), and as you can see the holes are "perfectly" misaligned!



So I turned the body to drill the other half of the holes, to make them encounter on the half way.



I measured the things and fixed the bridge to sign the holes, then I drilled again and surprisingly 4 of the holes match almost perfectly, the other 2 holes are still wandering to meet each other...

Finally I've got too the "swine flu" (like the rest of my family) but I tried the same to recover the misaligned situation. Sorry for the phone shots.

First tried to re-align by counterclock routing the top of the holes with a drill bit for metal with the correct ferrules width.



Then begun to drill the holes



Just the last one got a little out of the signs



For today it's enough, gotta go back to bed (cough cough) with my fever...
