Single P-35 Tele Wiring Problem

The 100 dollar tele challenge got me wanting to start my own first build (which has ended up being over 100 sadly ) But now I'm to the stage of wiring and am stuck. I bought a p-35 off ebay which I believe used to be on an airline tuxedo. the pickup is strange as originally on the end of the single red wire was a sort of mini phone jack looking piece which I stripped off revealing a small black and even smaller read wire. Since most humbuckers usually have 4 wires i understand I'm not sure what to do . Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

{p-35}===red wire==============--black wire--l Weired Phone l
(this line is even with the black wire) __red wire___l Jack Thing l

*A makeshift diagram to help out

I've never even heard of a P-35 before. Are sure you've got the right model name for it?

The pickup has two wires i.e. two distinct metal wires that you can solder, correct? Try wiring it with the red one hot and the black one ground. If that doesnt sound good, reverse them. Use standard wiring diagrams and you should be fine.

If this is a humbucker don't expect to get any center-tapped wiring solutions to work without a little (or perhaps a great deal) of work.

Hey boneyguy. Yeah its called a P-35 I'll give you a link to the page http://cgi.ebay.com/Airline-Kleenex-...3%3A1|294%3A50

Blue Jim- Appreciate your advice. I'll try it out and let you know how it goes. I found a schematic for a Musicmaster which I'll use too. Thanks!

I don't think it's a humbucker, but some kind of knockoff of a P90.
Ask over in "Just Pickups".
