I've a tele style build just underway.

Here's a couple of photos and the components that will go into this guitar.

The body is a solid body Western Canadian Red Cedar and it'll have a Western Canadian Hard Maple neck. Tru Oil finish.
The components will be:
Tuners - Hipshot Chrome Grip-lock
Pickups - Bill Lawrence Wilde L-90 dual rails
Bridge - Schaller Hannes
Wiring scheme - early Flying V
Volume pots(2) - R S Guitar works 500K super pots
Tone pot(1) - R S Guitar works 500K audio taper
Gibson style 3-way switch

Welcome, delander! Interesting choice on the cedar - I built a cedar topped tele last year and love the look and feel. The tone doesn't quite have the snap of Ash, to my ear, but it's very clean and almost hi-fi.

Yours should be a cool setup with your pickup and wiring choices! Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Welcome, Delander!

Guitar sounds very exciting and thought through a lot.

We'll be eager to hear your critique of the Schaller-Hannes bridge assembly on there; and everything else as well.

Should be fun!

I went over to my buddies to see how the Maple neck for the Red Cedar build was coming along and came home with this Western Canadian Sitka Spruce tele'ish body with strat routings.

This one will have a Mahogany Neck with a Rosewood fret board. It's going to have a Graphtech ResoMax hardtail Bridge and Tail Piece. I think I will go with the Acme ToneShaper setup and more than likely, the Bill Lawrence Wilde L280/L280/L290 pick ups. I'll also go with the Hipshot Locking tuners too. Might just be a great buddy to the Red Cedar one, eh? :-)

My buddy is having martial/financial problems on a grand scale so any further help/work on these two bodies is now on hold.

Since I had the hardware, I decided to let Ron Kirn work his magic with it. He emailed me the other evening with: "Holy Smoke..... I just got the first Tele together and into setup..... I have never used these pups before.... daymmmm what a sound... the most "fidelity" I have heard..as clear as a bell... I'll have pix tomorrow."

Now, having read his comments I was anxiously waiting the pics. Here they are:

Isn't cedar very soft and easily dentable?(I could be way off base here). What is the finish on that body going to be?

oh man... finally one with a Hannes bridge, that thing has been lurkin' in the back of my mind for a while now.
I'm thinking Esquier standard setup with a in the rout woodmounted tonerider trt1b and a handsome hannes....
Just so happens that i've got the parts (except for the hannes) lying around....
More on this later

The guitar Ron built for me is a Mahogany body. Famous Kirn Nitro finish!

The guitar arrived today. Not only is it a thing of true beauty (Thank You, Ron Kirn!), but, the sound blows me away completely. If Ron had not come up with the term "Fidelity", I'd have been at lost for descriptions.
Running it as clean as I can through my '57 Bassman reissue 4 x 10, the sound is simply amazing. And, I love the bridge - no chances of cuts or scrapes either, I can actually play much lower down the guitar, too.

I love it when a man takes pride in his work. You can always tell when someone is in it for money, and when someone does it for the love of it.

My 2nd Ron Kirn Tele style with Mahogany body is now done. Bill Lawrence Wilde 280/290/290 pickups with a Toneshaper in the electronics.
