What is the best all around DIY Tele-builder refence book?

What is the best all around DIY Tele-builder refence book? Since I am new to this craft, and don't want to waste too much time, I like to have a handy reference book to show me all the ins and outs of how to do this stuff. I also feel dumb asking every question that you great builders have heard so many times before. I enjoy all of these great build treads - sort of like watching "This Old Telecaster" on PBS Saturday afternoons, nut I'd like to have a bench reference.

Please state the names of the books and their authors, that you feel are the best reference materials that you have used. Again, with much respect, and gratitude for the novice, THANK YOU>

I'm building number 3 & 4 right now and I think TDPRI and ReRanch are the best resources I've found. Other than that Dan Erlewine does some good stuff. Both book and DVD.

This site is better than any book. Dig and you will discover.

Melvyn Hiscock's book is very good.

There are threads here that contain virtually the same information. (Maybe we have all read his book! )

Here's an Oldie but Goodie.

Jack Wells and Ron Kirn have some very informative threads floating around.

Cheers

The Hiscock book is good but I think Martin Oakham's Build Your Own Electric Guitar might be better. It's full of color pictures and diagrams. For the beginner it gives more information on how to use tools.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have taken on this interest (after many years of wanting to build a guitar) mainly because of this forum, and the threads by EHawley, and Buckocaster, and the many others. I like to have a book for charts and references because I have to show and justify the $$$ I'll spend to my better half and the kiddles. Besides, books are cool tools too. But this forum does RULE. Thanks again.

I agree, that's a great book. I bought that and the Hiscock book. The best resource though has turned out to be some of the build threads here. The Hiscock doesn't have such good photos but I find that it's the one i go back to more often.

Still does...or you could probably just ask him for one. This site (TDPRI) is better and more informative that any book...because here you get the truth, mistakes, suggestions, great ideas and feedback.
