Well....
This has been one tough week
I got them finished with a few hours to spare
Just have to tweak the pickup height on them once I get them
plugged in with a real amp and clean out the f-holes a bit

Here are a couple pics of the other one
Full 2" thick,heavily chambered.double bound natural ash
Musikraft super flame,thick wide neck
Kinman Broadcasters,Glendale bridge
Plays pretty nice but the neck is too beefy for my liking

All in all,a good week.Too bad I can't keep any of them

Marty, you amaze me!

You must not watch nearly as much television as I.

Those are awfully purdy!

Looking good, Marty. Maybe I missed it in another thread, but what is the binding on the Barneycaster? It looks B/W/B. Is it three different strips of binding? Does it come like that?

Yep,3 strips
It's a real pain to do but looks cool

The birdseye one actually has 5 strips

Now that was a pain to do.

Marty, all three are beautiful. What is your day gig? I know your neighbor is gonna be overwhelmed with joy.

I like the looks of the Barneycaster especially, too.

Best build thread ever!

So if I move my family next to yours will you build me a tele in the next 50 years or so?

Let's keep this one at the top of the list!

gonna be checking in here on Sunday to see how it went at the presentation. BTW, being that they are the Tucker family from Endiang, is that the same family as NHLer Darcy Tucker? I know he's from out in that neck of the woods somewhere

Yep
The victim would be Darcy's grandfather.
Not sure if he is going to be able to attend. He is in the middle of the move to
Colorado
I would not be surprised he makes an appearance Sat though
He is just that kind of guy.

That would suck.
Actually, the lady that is visiting my mom(relate of the Tucker family) had me pick up a nice hard case for it yesterday.I was a bit concerned before that because I didn't even have a gig bag to put it in
Now I have to give the wife a crash course on how to run the camcorder

Steve just gave me a head's up about your efforts. Remarkable job. Well done!

By the way, there are some folks on The Dope who are also impressed. And speaking of The Dope, how's the golf game these days?

Well...................
Everything went great
He loved it,as did his entire family
Was there any tears......
Oh ya,a few
Not sure what happened to the pics.Instead of coming close to the stage my photographer tried to zoom in and the pics are a bit out of focus.I will see if I can find some others from other people.I will try to get the video edited and upload it today some time
Thanks again for all the great comments along the way

I was still a bit unsure of how I was going to do this. Before we started playing,Clif got up and made a few intro's and thank you's
Then he sang Jambalaya. Then I asked him if he was going to do his signature song"Tiger by the Tail" and he said he was,so I told him to wait just a sec because I had a special Buck Owens guitar I wanted to use.He had no idea. Here we are in the middle of the song

In case you are unsure which one I am,I am the skinny one(wink, wink)
Hey they say the camera adds 100 lbs!!!
When the song was over,I took off the guitar and asked him if he could read what was on the back. When he started reading you could hear it in his voice when he got to "the barn from the Tucker farm" part
He had a bit of trouble reading the rest of it

With his eyes filled with tears,he give me a handshake, took the guitar and then looked at he and said,"Take this thing for me,I think I am going to drop it" so I took and set it in the stand beside him

Here is a picture of his wife with it

He only sang 2 more songs the rest of the night. My photographer was either sleeping or in the bar when he strapped it on so unfortunately I have no pics of him with it on.I will try to get some from someone else
I really feel sorry for Clifton. He just loves to sing but his hearing has gotten so bad he can't do it anymore. The few songs he did,he knew he was off key but just wanted to do it one more time and everybody gave him a roaring applause when he was finished.
Like I said,I will try to get the video edited and uploaded today, and try to find some better pics

Dear Marty,

Your loving generosity has been an inspiration to me, and many others who have had the privilage of sharing this expeience. You have created a legacy that will ripple outwards into the imaginations of many, and blessings will return to you in the same way.

Congratulations on a labor well done.

Love, Peace and Happiness to you,

Bruce

P.S. How'd she play? Was it simply marvelous when you plugged it in for the jam and started playing?
