I'm really thinking Butterscotch with a black guard.

I wonder if a big wide front-to-back binding would be possible, in black, all the way around the guitar?

Perhaps the body wood on the back and sides could be pickled or whitewashed to fit in with the blonde colors of the wood chips?

Yep, that would work. Maybe use some old corrugated tin roofing hammered flat and shaped into a guard.

I had a bad tooth once. If I pushed my tongue against it a certain way it hurt. I did that a lot, mostly because it felt so good when it stopped. When I finally got it fixed, I missed it.

That is how I feel about this guitar... Part of it hurts, but some of it feels oh so good....

It does beg for the galvanized pickguard. It also might be cool to figure out a way to use a mattock handle in some way to build a neck for it. Maybe get a paddle head neck and shape the head like a double bit axe handle where it fits into the axe head.

I love it ! I think Fender should buy the idea from you and mass market them-I bet they'd sell for about $6 K like the relics do up here!

What we call it here is OSB-Oriented strand board

Very rare to find it with this kind of figuring

Beautiful. I love it. Why do we always overlook the obvious everyday stuff.
That looks like its gonna be one of the most FUN guitars I've seen for a while.

I thought I was strange for wanting to use birch.

Maybe an old hub cap will work on the back to protect against buckle rash...

Crazy dude!

How about a tire track where the Mustang competition stripe would go? Load up tire with black paint and roll it right across...

or maybe not.

Or maybe yes.

Now I know how it feels to be ambivalent!

My Avatar's expression says it all ! Might try one out of 2 layers of laminated plywood. I seem to recall that maybe some Danelectros had masonite bodies. How well does a Lucite body resonate?

Kewl, man!!!

A long time ago Fine woodworking had the back cover photo feature. This issue was about too perfect.

Featured was a Maple table .. too perfect so the builder took a crayon and scrawled across the top.

The other was a beautiful China cabinet ... Too perfect so he drove a spike in it and bent it over.

Too bad you don't have the green lumber stamp.... or some carpenters measurements written on it.

What is that? Cardboard?
I think with 3 more sides and a roof you'd have a place to store your lawnmower...
Maybe some old rusty barbed wire for binding? How bout barn brooming it barn red?
