Help! Who did this tune?

I just heard a country tune, and I don't know who recorded it. The chorus(and prolly the title) is: "Welcome to Earth, 3rd rock from the sun." It's Twangtastic.

Joe Diffie recorded that song a few years back.
I think it's Brent Mason playing the licks.

Not all of it.
It's your typical mid-90's Nashville fare. A couple bouncy rockers, and a bunch of ballads - all the radio friendly stuff.

I wouldn't put the good licks into being Joe Diffie in particular, rather, it's just the great playing from the "A"-Team guys in Nashville ,like Brent Mason, Dan Huff etc.

Joe did have a cool tune out a few years back called "Texas Sized Heartache" which had a cool groove.

Another good source of licks from that era was Wade Hayes. Tunes like "Old Enough to Know Better" and "On a Good Night" have some wicked Tele licks from Brent Mason too.

it was Wade himself with all those tasty licks. I don't have a CD to consult but he sure is convincing in the videos.

When I first heard them, I honestly thought it was Wade himself doing those licks, but then I noticed that the pickin' has all the Brent Mason cliches that he is known for.

Then, looking at the Old Enough To Know Better CD credits, only Brent Mason has credits for the guitar.

I think he started to play bits and pieces on later albums though, but there is a clear distinction between his and Brents playing. Brent plays a lot more pentatonic major, with the odd flat 3rd flat 6th, whereas Wade plays more in the pentatonic minor realm it seems.
