That's pretty cool.
I've got an old freeware program that I got about 15 years ago that will do any key, any mode, and print out a fret board with the notes (and what they are, like 1, 3, 5, etc.) It's really handy for a reference when building chord structures and such. It's still out on the net, downloadable here: Guitar Modes Look for the file called GUITAR3.ZIP It's not very sophisticated, but very, very useful. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this little tool for anyone who wants an easy to use reference. I'm a self taught kind of guy, so I found it to be perfect for what I need. It was written by a guy named David Sampson back in 1990 under what he called "Beggarware". He was asking for a $5 donation for his Foster's beer fund. I think I actually sent him 5 bucks. That's a long time ago, but it would be cool if we could find him and have all the TDPRI members who download it send him a couple bucks - he'd be in Foster's heaven! Cheers, Doug |
