Dave Rubin: his 'Inside the Blues' book ?

My guitar teacher has two books from Dave Rubin: 'Art of the Shuffle' and 'Power Trio blues'. I've been thinking about buying a third book, 'Inside the Blues, 1942-1982'.
Has anyone purchased these books? I'm concerned that the third book is basically just the other two combined as it seems to feature many of the same artists.............. can anyone vouch that it is new material?
BTW, the first two books are just great (more for comping and rythm/groove playing than lead, which is what I want from the third too).
Regards, Bernie.

IIRC, the others go more like by general styles, while the Inside blues is by artist? I think it is a great book (although I'm only interested in the early years part of it). I haven't seen the Power trio one. And I have really studied only the "inside blues", "12 bar blues riffs" and "turnarounds" ones myself.

Have you tried "Blues you can use", I really liked that. Not by Rubin, though.

If you are into funky stuff, Rubin has a book for that too, and New Orleans funk guitar by Theriot is a good source as well.

There are two versions of "Inside the Blues" An updated one with cd has recently been released. I have "Power Trio Blues" " 12 Bar Blues" 'Boogie Blues Riffs" "12 Bar Blues Riffs" I like them and all the other in Rubins Inside the Blues series. The books as a general rule don't go into to much talk, just a 12 bar verse on every page. The Blues You Can Use series goes much deeper into the hows and whys.
