The art of thrilling.
I am in a phase right now were im fine tuning my playing and I was just thinking.. When I "thrill", I don't know what you guys call it, should I hit the first note and let the other one's pass on that wave or should I pick them all?
I have now for 7 years used the "first" method and since im not schooled I don't know wich one is the right. Any suggestions? "thrill" ----------------------------- -5-7-8-5-7-8-5-7-8-5-7-8- ..etc ----------------------------- ----------------------------- ----------------------------- ----------------------------- The tab right above might be the worst solo of all time! |

Im thrilled...
I think your thinking of doing "Triplets" or hammer-ons.
If it makes a sound - and you like it - then thats the way to do it. some guys like Johnny Winter & Gary Moore choose to pick every note. Then there's Angus Young who does it either way. Whatever works. Depends how fast your right hand picking technique is. And your Tone. The most important thing is "The FACE" you make when your doing it.

But a triplet if I translate it right is a note length not a way of playing , or maybe it means both. I just want to try to get a real name on it. |

I haven't heard of "thrill". I think a "trill" would be something like this...
--------------------------------------------------- -7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8-7-8 --------------------------------------------------- Like vibrato on the 'roids. I wouldn't pick any of those except maybe the first. I agree with Locks. Whatever sound or attack suits your ears. |

The actual technique is called T-R-I-L-L-I-N-G.
There's no H. Here's a link: http://www.learnclassicalguitar.com/trill.html It's another one of those advanced guitar techniques (finger tapping, sweep picking, etc.) where a little goes a LONG way. Use whatever technique works for you.

I think the confusion is that "trilling" refers to altering between 2 notes.
"thrilling" is zak wylde slang for playing 3 or more notes in rapid succession.
