Bill Kirchen chords needed

Anyone know the chords to his newest single, "Hammer of the Honky Tonk Gods"?

Thanks,
Brendan

Well, the tagline is in my sig, so I figured I'd better respond. ;-)

The whole verse is in E. It goes to A on the chorus, then back to E, and there's a quick B7 the 2nd time he sings "Hammer of the Honky-Tonk Gods.

And here's how to play the intro lick:

What a great tune, huh? Hope it helps, CS :-)

The first time I heard that cut on the cd, I had to stop & give it a go. Thanks for your work there, too, Chris!
I also, was working on that YouTube Vid that was up for a few weeks, it had some nice embeleshment licks- I wish I would have recorded it.

Here's that "cool" chord he uses, btw...

Check this one out:

It's an E9 with the root on top. Great rockabilly chord, too. Enjoy. CS :-)

Again, thanks- I didn't realize that was what he was using.
I just got the Danny Gatton Strictly Rythm DVD, and he calls that E9 voicing, a "Real Power Chord"! LOL

I first heard this Dom 9 form years ago used by Freddie King. SRV used that voicing extensively.

Hee. Yeah, I don't know that Bill got it from Danny – as pointed out above, various people have been using that voicing for a long time – but the two of them did play together for a short while in the late 80s/early 90s. And I know every time I ever had a chance to play with Danny, I tried to uh, "learn" as many of his licks and chords as I possibly could carry away with me in my stunned little brain. Hehe. CS :-)
