what the hell is brad paisley doing?

hi guys,
i really dig the stuff that mr. paisley is cranking out on his guitar. i know he uses a bender. but i have not the slightest clue, what the man is doing.
he picks some stuff that sounds bizarre and rocks so well in the same time.
what do you think is the number one spice to copy some of his cooking?
there must be something special about his trademarks licks that i just can not find out.
help is appreciated.
eddie

About the only "trademark" I can see is the unpredictable nature of his solos. Just when you think you see where he's going with one he stops and turns on a dime, taking it in an entirely different direction with an unexpected note choice or change in rhythm. His ability to keep you guessing is what makes his playing so refreshing.

I read this about one of his albums. Don't remember which one - sorry.

He did three takes on the solos for each song. Each one different. He listened to them when he was done and picked the most "funny" one.

He plays a lot of very fast pull-offs,and hammer-on's in combination with the G-Bender. It makes for a very cool vibe. I also wish i could afford one of those hot-rodded Dr. Z amps of his

I can't say too much about how Brad Paisley plays...he's got a great style.

What I hear is that he is very unpredictable. His phrasing is very unique and not necessarily falling easily within the beat. He's not a afraid of chromatic notes. That being said, it get's neither of us any closer to copping his style.

right said bruther bill.
and he has a really cool tone. its round and edgy at the same time. i have "time well wasted" on heavy rotation in my car. hope that i can pick up some of his style just by absorbing. it just does not happen.
