Internet tab beef rant!!!!

I know most tabs on the web have errors and are not 100% accurate, but there is a new trend with tabbers that post 'em that is worse (!) :x What I'm seeing alot of is partial lyric lines throughout the whole song. I know it's meant as a guidline, but it is very lazy. I for one only know parts of songs lyrically most of the time, so I find complete words very handy. I don't mind wrong guitar parts because if you know how a song goes, typically you will not need to follow tab, however the lyrics are a little more essential for carrying the song. Just a rant, I needed to get that off my chest

It may have more to do with trying to keep the snarling dog RIAA lawyers off their backs and out of their wallets, than issues of laziness. I really haven't a clue though, it's just a thought

The most accurate tabs on the net are Power Tabs. You need the free Power Tab Editor to watch, listen to (Midi) and print them out. Go here for a huge collection of them:

Enjoy!

I have always noticed countrytabs.com has very accurate lyrics on any tabs that are type "chord"

Country "Tabs" is annoying because they basically don't have many real tabs, just chords.

What is annoying is that people post the chords from memory sometimes instead of listening to the recording. So the chords are often wrong and are often in some key that the record aint.

The whole point of downloading the "Tabs" is to make learning songs easier. So if I have to change everything to the real key of the song it's a pain.

People write stuff on their tabs like "I do it in C, but I don't know what key it's in on the record." Thanks fer nuttin'!

As long as I'm *****ing, I'll say that it's another pet peeve of mine--people who do songs in keys that aren't on the record. Now I know people change them for vocals sometimes, but when you go learn a song and then get together and the singer says "I'm going to do it in G"and you learned all the low end cool open string licks in E, it's a little hard to re-learn them on the spot in that key. Especially if you worked out a cool solo. Yeah, I can make something up on the spot, but it won't be as good.

Just whinin'...

Yes true. But when youīre doing a song, and the singer canīt do it that high or low....The alternative is someties not to play it. Or to force him to give it a good try in the right key

Those things are better worked out before you start to reherse the snappy parts. I hate it too, but if you know already you wont be dissapointed and can figure out something on your own. It will often show tho, that the cover song is best when itīs done like on the record.Esp. guitar parts.
Lead singers are often just concious....when they reherse at home they may feel inhibited. With the full band sound it wonīt be that hard.

Yeah, I would like to hear some of the guys out there writing these horrible tabs play.
Some of the stuff is so out there I don't understand how they could even think thats semi, sorta, close to right. I never really got into the tabs thing myself, mostly because the majority of tabs I found were horribly wrong.
I can understand that not all tabs are gonna be dead on, but come on, are they hearing a different song than I am?
