Albert Lee style run

Hey again , here's a run I got from an issue of "Country Guitar " magizine @10 yrs ago . This one is a decending lick that goes from the 12th position down to the open "E" string. Again...try a hybrid grip and slap the strings against the frets for maximum cluck!!! If you can phrase it like Mr. Lee..lemmie know how you did it!!! His timing is amazing , even at ludicris speeds!!!
CHEERS!!!

precision at the speed of albert lee

i was reading an interview with albert where he said he had his tape delay set at a certain speed which allowed him to play 'relatively simple' parts over and it would give the effect of continuous solo lines at a baffling speed

dunno if i can remember the site but the interview was taken from guitar player (?) around the time when he was touring with eric clapton ('just one night' live album) mid/late seventies

yep albert sure is a guitar dude

Listen to the beginning of Emmylou Harris' "Luxury Liner" and you can hear Albert using his delay to set the tempo of the song for the rest of the group before they come in. It's not just the normal slapback, either. He has the delay time set at 1-1/2 times the length of a beat, so that the repeats will fall between subsequent beats. Pretty nifty trick. :-)

Of course, he could still play his butt off even without any assist from the delay... =:-O CS
