New jazz lessons
Ryan guys, I'm featured on 2 blogs from the UK this week.
Check out the "Hidden Melodies" article on www.mattwarnockguitar.com for a different look at guide tones. Also Play Green Dolphin Street Like 3 Jazz Guitar Legends at www.jamieholroydguitar.com. Transcriptions of Jim hall, grant green, and Barney Kessel. |

Enjoyed the blog about guide tones Sam.
Building melody from all of the chord tones doesnt get enough airing (compared to all of the scale/chord stuff). I agree, the fifth is often the lame duck in chords - but its a powerful melodic pivot - as is the 9th. One of the most rewarding parts of the Lydian Chromatic study is learning to hear/play all of the diatonic fifths in a (lydian)key.
