Recommend a book for guitar fixing/tech?

I have a few guitar projects lined up that need wiring, pickups fitting and such. Also a couple of amps that need crackly pots replacing. Reading all the tidbits on the net is not helping, just getting more confused.

Looking for a good beginners book on guitar tech that will include detailed wiring/electronics stuff. If it is a comprehensive guide that includes all guitar maintenance and repair then all the better, but really need help with the electronics right now.

OLd book by one of your 'countrymen, I think.
"Customizing Your Electric Guitar" by Adrian Legg.

Amps..lots of books ....Tom Mitchell's "How to Service Your own Tube Amp" is a good layman's overview of tube amp basics. There are many more that are much more technically oriented. Gerald WEber has some good introduction to tube amp books. Jack Darr's book is a great one. IF you are into Fender amps, imho, the Dave Funk 'Tube Amp Handbook' (IIRC) is a very good book to have.
You can google Aiken Amps. ON that site, Aiken has a technical section that is a good introduction to many aspects of tube amp work.
Good luck with it all.

It is but it isnt. When people write a book they go to the effort of filling in all the gaps and educating the reader through all the stages.

I've got The Guitar Player Repair Guide by Dan Erlewine which pretty much seems to cover all the bases...
The one I've got looks to be pretty expensive just now (£45 on Amazon), however there is his Guitar Player: Repair Guide in paperback which looks to cover pretty much what you're after for just over £13.

+1 Beat me to it. That's pretty much the Bible for guitar repair and setup.

Another vote for Dan Earlwine's book. Even my local library has a copy of it. It's fantastic.
