Lonesome Onry and Mean Intro

A fellow member requested this , so here it is, at least the way I play it. Standard tuning, and ol' Waylon had funky fingers that didn't like to sit still.

Whoops, I guess the man wanted the way the Intro was played live, not on the record. I don't know how to do that , yet. Maybe somebody else plays it that way around here. If nothing shows up soon, I'll give it a spin.

Thanks for posting this. I recently listened to the studio version again and there are some funky things going on with the lead guitar on that one. I love it!

Yeah, the note choice , though simple, takes a specific vibe to get the little nuances to pull together. I hope the tab isn't too confusing in that regard, all the little chinks, an slides really make it IMO. You could say the same thing about Ralph Mooney's steel playing, which is always stellar.

historicus, I hadn't heard T Tritt's version before. I know he is a big Waylon fan, not afraid of the influence. That was pretty cool, thanks for posting that.

Thanks for the tab mini hogg! It's so simple, yet it evaded me for so long.

I also discovered the version by Travis Tritt on YouTube. I have stolen that intro! I just learned this song and, though it seems easy, I have found the rhythm part fun and challanging. Keeping it simple, interesting, and rocking all at the same time. What a great song!

WOW! thanks so much guys, like others I knew this had to be simple, but couldn't get it, got it now!

the TT version is really good, that was on the Waylon tribute album I've Always Been Crazy, it's a good cd, lots of variety, it's even got James Hetfield doing Don't Yall Think This Outlaw Bit's Done Got Out Of Hand...... out of hand..... what started out to be a joke the law......... oops got carried away, thanks again guys
