Brent Mason video?

Hi all,

I'm looking for information on an instructional video that Brent Mason made sometime in the early 90s. It covered the basics of his Tele playing style and some information on the rig he was using at the time.

Here's what I remember.

He was using primer paint maple fingerboard Tele.

He mentioned the Dynomypiano chorus device.

He had a twin chassis and custom made dummy load mounted in his rack because he liked the sound of those big old tubes.

He seemed really tired.

I've been scouring the interwebs and have come up empty so far.
Any help locating the video would be greatly appreciated.

I think it's the "Brent Mason's Nashville Chops & Western Swing Guitar."

Out of the things you mention, the only that I recognize are his primer guitar (not much help because this is his main guitar), showing off his rig with a twin converted to a head, and the fact that he seemed tired.

Also - after some brief googling, I can't find any other DVDs that Brent Mason has made. So this might very well be the only option. Hope that helps!

just checked Netflix, they have it.
I have a copy of it... very impressive playing of course, but don't expect great teaching and breaking down abilities... it's a tough one.

You can download it at TotalVid for a few dollars. The file will expire after a few days.

There's only about 6000 copies on ebay......always a good place to look for stuff, if only to find out details.

There is a link from brentmason.com to buy from Amazon. This is not the only video/DVD he has done, he did one for Vision4 that also has a link from the website. Each has it's own benefit.

As good as these are, my recommendation (for what it's worth) would be the guitar tutor software Brent did for GuitarStar (guess what, link on his website also). It's much more expensive at $50 but you get so much more for your money and if you are serious about learning about the nuts and bolts of his playing, this is the better option in the long run.

Thanks for the tips. I think the 2006 release date of the DVD was throwing me off.
I never thought that 06 was just when they got around to releasing the video on DVD.
I watched it back in the bad old days of VHS tape.
I also never thought of checking Netflix. There are some other interesting instructional videos available from them too.

Thanks again,
DF
