Unchain my heart - Ray Charles

Hey guys, I was thinking of playing this one next week in honor of the great Mr. Charles but I only have one recorded version and it's old and really poor quality. Does anyone know of any updated versions?

Also, it sounds to me like it would be mostly an Em7, Am7 on the chorus part and then there's like a bridge part that sounds to me like an A7 to Em7. Anyone know the correct chords. Ray's recorded version that I have is hard to hear. It's basically a I IV V in Eminor with some small variations - right?

Thanks

Bob,

Here you go. This is staple at the Hudson Valley TDPRI jams, and seemes to work pretty well.

Good luck.

Joe

Code:
Intro Riff (and repeated after each verse)
Verse 1
         Am
Unchain my heart
Baby let me be
                    Dm
Unchain my heart
			        Am
Cause you don’t care about me
Dm Am
You’ve got me sewn up like a pillow case
Dm Am
But your letting my love go to waste
Dm E
Unchain my heart oh please please set me free

Verse 2
Unchain my heart
Baby let me go
Unchain my heart
Cause you don’t love me no more
Every time I call you on the phone
Some fella tells me that you’re not at home
So unchain my heart oh please please set me free

Bridge
		 Dm
I’m under your spell
		 Am
Like a man in a trance
		    Dm
But I know darn well
		         E
That I don’t stand a chance

Verse 3
So unchain my heart
Let me go my way
Unchain my heart
You worry me night and day
Why lead me through a life of misery
When you don’t care a bag of beans for me
So unchain my heart oh please please set me free
Solo over verse chords
Repeat Bridge
Repeat Last Verse
Repeat “Set Me Free” 3X over Intro riff

Thanks Joe

BTW - where do those jams take place. I live in norther NJ - probably striking distance to some part of the Hudson Valley at least.

Cheers

Bob,

Mike lives in Hurley (exit 19 off the NY State Thruway). I come up from NYC (with bdkphoto usually). We have a faithful contingent from Long Island, as well as a few guys from NJ and CT.

Watch the main board for announcements.

Joe
