Bill Kirchen Lick - Truck Drivin Man - Twangbangers

I thought I would write down one of my favorite Bill Kirchen licks from the Twangbanger's "26 Days on the Road" CD. I love Redd Volkert's playing on everything and I posted one of his licks a while back. This is a useful lick Bill Kirchen played on "Truck Drivin' Man" at time stamp 01:01.

I documented the fingerings in the tab for the first time. It takes a lot of time, but this lick needs to be played with the indicated fingerings (or at least thats my humble interpretation). Forefinger is 1, pinky is 4. T is for thumb but not used here.

Hey Terry

How 'bout you plan on attending the next Hudson Valley jam and you can just show me how to play this. I'm really good with that sort of visual!

Nice job man!

Thanks....

but you gotta give Bill the credit for thinking it up.

I'm interested if any of you

1) used the fingering labels
2) have ever seen fingering labels in tab before

Thanks for the tab, I've enjoyed and wil continue to enjoy working on it--actually fairly simple to get the basic idea, but making it sound good at speed is another story.

As far as the fingering labels go, I'm not sure that particular passage could be fingered any other way, other than maybe using the third finger instead of the pinky in the last measure, but yes I see fingering labels fairly often in tab--not that I follow them!

Terry,

Nice work as always.

I appreciated the fingering notation and found it to be very helpful.

Thanks!

Thanks Terry...

As a novice I'm always looking for all the help I can get and the fingering lables are great! I wish every tab had them. I second Mike's idea about an appearance at the next the Hudson Valley Jam. Instead of fingering lables we could see the actual fingers! :D Thanks again.
