Greetings! Any tips for playing in EADGCF tuning?

Howdy everyone.

Awesome forum, reading around here let me just say first that I am in awe of the talent here. Seriously humbling. (just heard some Sol and am still catching my breath)

It's a privilege to have found such a cool place. Cheers to you all, and Merry Christmas to you and yours. Hope 2010 brings nothing but the best for you. Now then, back to guitar talk.

It took me a surprising number of years to get around to it but lately I tried EADGCF and really like it for the symmetry and ease of play. Obviously there are disadvantages in terms of sight reading, playing standards, playing chords in open position, playing open string patterns, etc. But I noticed that if you tune EbAbDbGbBE and capo only the bottom 4 strings at the first fret -- you get the benefits of EADGCF with the ability to play a few more open chords, i.e. open E.

So I'm working with it. And now I'm curious if any of you all have gone down this road and have some wisdom to offer? Any tips or insights are deeply appreciated.

Also I was wondering if any of you know of artists/recordings that feature guitar playing/techniques in EADGCF (or equivalent concept) tuning.

Thanks!
