Probably my personal fav

Is a pop to the minor 3rd, in a major I, IV, V progression.

So in G, I do a pull off from C to A#.

Not exotic, but sounds great at the end of a country song.

La finis Cajun

En Anglais: the Cajun ending. Big I chord, everything stops for a beat – then everyone hits a big IV chord in unison. Way cool. Er, I mean... tres chic. ;-)

Getting the right ending really depends on the song, but a cool turnaround is the one from "Nightlife," 1maj7 – bIIImaj7 – bVImaj7 – bIImaj7. Also, just substituting a bIImaj7 for the final I chord will usually tweak people's ears pretty effectively... ;-) CS

It isn't really odd, but i figured we could put any cool ending on this thread

key of C, to be used at the end of a country, western swing or rockabilly song

-------------------------8---
-------------------------10-------
--9----10---11---12---9-------------
-10----10--10----10--10-------------------
-------------------------------
--8----10---11---12-------------------

End a blues two ways at once

Here's a very clever bit of contrary motion from Joe Pass. On the last two chords, just play the first one (Db7) as an eighth note and slide it down one fret into the final C7 without picking the second chord. Check it out.

--8------------------------
-----11--10--9---8-------
-----------------------10s9
------------------------9s8
------7---8---9--10-------
--8---------------------9s8

Also try the same lick with the notes staggered out, like this: (1st note is on the "and" of 4)

------8-----------------------------------
--------------11------10------9-------8-------
-------------------------------------------10s9
---------------------------------------------9s8
----------7--------8--------9------10------------
---8-----------------------------------------9s8

"And 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 2-AND" (Count)

Cool, huh? :-) CS

Kind of like "Down at the Twist and Shout". I believe they do that exact thing...
