I've been playing rockabilly for a while now, but lately I've been wanting to break out of the box and learn some western swing and jazz runs to incorporate into my rockabilly, where as before it was more blues based, thus the western swing threads. So I want' to know, in a rockabilly or 12 bar blues boogie/shuffle context, what are some good dominant 7/9/13 licks that I can apply over the I IV and V chords of the rockabilly/blues progression that would really jazz up my rockabilly?

Basically I want' to mix Jimmy Bryant with Chuck Berry. Kind of like Cliff Gallup: Jazzy rockabilly.

Pedal steel C6 licks would be cool as well.

you should do a search on the internet for paul pigat. he has tab available for free. Regrettably, I don't know if it's what you're looking for exactly, but I have a feeling that you may find it interesting.

... would be Deke Dickerson, the Horton Brothers, High Noon, Biller & Wakefield, and a personal favorite of mine, Lester Peabody, although he's a bit more out of the Chet Atkins school. The original Western Swing guys are all very cool and accessible too. They all pretty much learned directly or indirectly from Charlie Christian, so that would be the wellspring. When I listen to Danny Gatton my head starts spinning. He was such a monster talent that a mere human such as myself can barely relate to what he was doing sometimes. Oh yeah, check out Jeff Beck & The Big Town Playboys' "Crazy Legs" too, IMHO it doesn't get much better; Happy Trails!

Paul Pigat came immediately to my mind as well. He's a great player.
