Nils Lofgren Guitar School
Hi,
I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with the video lessons on the Nils Lofgren Guitar School site (http://nilslofgren.com/Lessons07.html)? I came across this through the Fender newsletter and a Nils Lofgren interview. It looks very interesting, but $20 per video is something that I need to think about first. Thanks, b. PS - I have posted this on other sites as well as I would really like to find out more about the videos. |

Nils is a fantastic player, if you want to learn finger style on a Strat he is the man as far as playing goes.
He used to do somersaults mid solo Wheather he is the teacher for you and you'll be dedicated rnough to take what he can give will be up to you $20 is cheap

Thanks for the replies. No, I haven't seen any of his videos. I actually found a 5min introductory course video on youTube. He plays a couple of blues riffs over very simple G and Em chords, and the speed and technique is breathtaking.
I'll probably buy the first 2 and check them out then see how I go. From the youTube video I gather that a teacher will still be required to help me along, the whole thing was just a bit overwhelming. Perhaps the video is a bit slower... |

I saw him live in Seattle, and later met him in the bar after the show. I sat with him and he described how to create false harmonics anywhere on the neck (his specialty). This was something I had never seen before and it blew my mind. He said that he learned it as a kid from watching Roy Buchanan perform live. He was very nice and open to my questions. Now I use false harmonics in my playing all the time...Thanks Nils!
