It is called C+, but you'll also see Caug and C(#5) .

augmented. an augmented triad is root, third, and a rasied fifth.
they're great as the V chord in a blues turnaround too.

C augmented.
So this is the blues trunaround chord. This would be the V in F. ---------- -------1-- -----1---- ---2------ -3-------- ----------

yup...well, a blues turnaround chord...works in a turnaround that ends on the V...it's cool at the beginning of a tune. try arpeggiating it, and singing something like, "well..." really draw out that "well," and tack something about your baby on to the end of it. then go to the F and start your blues.

Augmented chords are cool and fun!
They're great when playing chord melody type things, and as stated above, great for blues and R&B type things. A good little turn around is to start w/the C7 shape on the V, and then split the bar by resolving on the Caug for the last two beats. Creates a nice little tension that you resolve by starting out your progression from the I. |
