help with Beatles song pleeeze
If i fell in love with you. beatiful tune!
ok so i'm starting with an Eflat minor like so .. Eflat Min. / D / Dflat / Amin/ Eflat min/ D/ Emin/ A7 the first part "if i fell in love with you would you promise to be true and help me under...." my question ... is it a regular D chord after the Eflat min or somethin' slightly different , i thought it was right but somethin's buggin me bout it. any other advise for this song would also be appriciated. other than leave the singin' to a real singer. thanks mr |

Here are the intro chords, and two ways to play them:
Here's how John played it: Ebm-----D-----Db----Bbm 2--------2-----4------6 4--------3-----6------6 3--------2-----6------6 4--------0-----6------8 x--------x-----4------8 x--------x-----x------6 Here's how I play it (keeping the coolest bit of John's part): Ebm-----D-----Db----Bbm 2--------2-----1------1 4--------3-----2------2 3--------2-----1------3 4--------4-----3------3 x--------x-----x------1 x--------x-----x------x He just does the open-position Em and A chords.

thanks Lyle ( i meant Bflat min not Amin)
i was playin the eflat Min up at the sixth fret and the D 5th fret i will give it a play when i get home (no guitar in the office , no computer at home) i like the idea of holding those bass notes the Fsharp/Gflat over the Eflat min and the D . dont want to be a pest but any ideas on the riff after "...very start that you love me more than HER? right there do i hear some kind of Gmin type thing going on? anyway thanks again appreciated. mr ps i'm 40 years old and i still get blown away by The Beatles sometimes its like i'm hearing stuff for the first time though ive heard them all my life , the harmonies on this one are like WOW! |

First time:
--A--------A7---------D ...love me more than her... Gm---A--------D 1--2--3--4 if I trust For the Gm to A change used the barred 3rd fret Gm but the open position A. Second time: --------A--------A7---------D7 ...don't hurt my pride like her... (D7)-------------------------G ...cause I couldn't stand the pain... -------Gm-----------------------D ...and I would be sad if our new love... ----------A7 ...was in vain... After the open position D7 go to the barred 3rd fret G so you have an easy transition to the Gm.

Oh, and George's riff for the Gm to A change:
1 and 2 and 3 6-------6---5 8-------8---x x-------x---x x-------x---x x-------x---x x-------x---x
