Neandertal Flute?!

This post is inspired by a post Leon Grizzard made in another thread.

I had never even heard of this before, but a quick Googe search turned up a bunch of interesting stuff:

http://www.ukom.gov.si/eng/slovenia/...derthal-flute/

It's amazing to think that people were jammin' 45,000 years ago. Or maybe it's not a flute at all?

They've found a 30,000 year old flute in China that was still playable, and had a clear tonic-dominant tonal arrangement.

I saw the title of this thread and immediately thought of the Troggs' Wild Thing solo...

Sorry, I deserved that for the title of this thread.

Seriously, I think archeology is cool.

What will future archeologists think of Telecasters? My guess is they'll think it's some kind of ceremonial weapon and/or religious symbol... Obviously, there's no way a primitive contraption like a Telecaster could ever be used to make music...

What will future musicians think of archeology? Probably about the same as musicians today. That songs about big butts are much more interesting.
