What Graphtech TUSQ nut I buy for my Bullet? http://www.graphtech.com/products.html?SubCategoryID=4

None of the measurements ain't exactly right. Or am I just a very bad in measuring the old nut?
I guess someone here has bought a new TUSQ nut for Bullet strat, so which one of those will fit for Bullet?

I bought a sunburst Bullet Strat for my stepson last Xmas. I thought it played great and sounded great too, but I had to do a set-up, as the intonation was WAY off. Now it can be tuned and it stays in tune pretty well, but I am contemplating a tuner upgrade.

I think the PUs sound good so I'm not rushing to swap them out, and in fact, I'm a bit surprised how many people rush to do that. But I guess when you have the modding bug, you just feel an irresistible urge to change things.

I'll do some A/B-ing of the Bullet vs a MIA Strat before I'm convinced I need to do a PU change.

And I know I've posted this elsewhere, but I think it's supremely lame to replace the Squier decal with a Fender one. Modding is one thing, being deceitful is another.

At last somebody who thinks that removing the original headstock logo and replacing with a fake fender logo is deceitful, (I am suprised that moderators of these forums allow such pictures and postings) and possibly could go further if said guitar was ever sold on....

I have recently converted a Squire Affinity into a great sounding esquire, and I am proud of the headstock logo.

There are many many great guitars out there, but it seems that only having the "correct" logo is acceptable - no matter what it takes - even using counterfiet measures. If people don't like the truth then tuff.

Seafoam Green, not Daphne Blue

got my Bullet Strat this morning. it's not the Daphne Blue i've been yearning for. definitely closer to seafoam green or maybe surf green. i may return it and get an arctic white one.

Does it play well? Are there any problems with the fit and finish? If not, it might be best to keep it. I've found that Bullets are extremely variable in terms of quality of fit and finish. If you have a good one, you've lucked out. The next one might not be so lucky.

Strangely, I've play tested dozens and dozens of Bullets before I found a really good one that I bought. Of all the Bullets I've seen, the daphne blues and sunbursts have been the most consistent in terms of build (e.g. uneven finish applied on the body, tight neck pocket, well dressed frets, faulty decals, bad tuners, etc.) Of course, your mileage may vary.

And yeah the Bullet's daphne blue is more so a seafoam green, but it's a very nice color (one of my faves personally). The Bullet's fiesta red is also not really a fiesta red either, but rather a shade or two darker.

I hear what you're saying, but I have seen photos of real Daphne Blue Bullets, and that's what I've been jonesing for. Badly. I don't hate the seafoam or surf green, but blue has always been my favorite color since i was a kid. I contacted Sweetwater to see if they have any Daphne Bullets that I can exchange it for, haven't heard back from them yet.

All the Bullets are shaded like seafoam green. If you really want Daphne Blue, I think the most inexpensive model is the Mexican Fender Classic Series 50s Strat. But you're looking at $600 with a maple neck, 7.25" radius neck, and vintage frets. Maybe you can find a used one for $400?

One thing I like about the Made in Mexico Strats is that the poly finish is thicker and less likely to scratch or dent. The finish on the Bullets is thinner and the basswood dents way easier than alder bodies.

That's just not true. Many people have posted pics of their Daphne Blue Squier Bullets...including Kid Klash (8 posts above this one)...and HohnerFan on the previous page.

I think I remember Kid Klash telling me that the earlier run of the Squier Bullets (maybe last year?) had the real daphne blue, but the later run of this year or so is more like seafoam green. Maybe if you can get one of the earlier Bullets from 2008 it'll be the real blue.

I may be wrong...

well, the guy from Sweetwater asked me to send him a pic so he can investigate. i asked him if he could check and see if all their "Daphne Blue" Bullets are this seafoam/surf green color.

Hmm...now that I'm checking more closely, those Bullets might not be Daphne Blue.

In any case, mine definitely is Surf Green (57), not Daphne Blue (04). You can compare it to the photos on the Fender color chart.
