I have an ebony standard bought a few years back new, and it's light as a feather.

I would love to get a Strat without all the "comfort contours" on it. The contours make the guitar sit at a strange angle in front of me and it's not as comfortable to play as my Tele is. Call me strange but, I think the only real defect with a Strat is those dang contours.

I like the strat as well I just that I have alway been Les Paul player since seeing John Fogerty using one in CCR and solo work. (Yeah I know he used a strat too.) I will give advise to any one who wants to know my experience with a stratocaster.

Nice Paul, is that the '82 Standard in your sig? I have one LP, it's a '74 Custom, I consider myself more of a Fender guy, but my LP will be with me until the end, nothing wrong with a little non-Fender affection IMO.

Yes Scott V that is an 1982 it has the Tim Shaw PAF pickups in them. The only thing I might due is 3 things 1) change volume control from 300k Audio to 500k Audio, 2) the cermaic cap to orange drop .022uf/100v (unless I can find out where Gibson get there bumble caps from. and 3rd) Change the strings.

Nice Les Paul. I've wanted a Gibson for a long time, but have never owned one. Maybe some day.

Until then, I'll stick with the Tele.

Check out my RS-135 thread. I think Fender Bullet strats don't have the contours either.

I think thats one of the reasons i don't gel with Strats as well. they feel sorta slippery.
